Colby-Sawyer College

Led by Head Coach Josh Anderson and Assistant Coaches Scott Fitzgerald, Michelle Doody and Callie Dolan, the team is comprised of 11 student-athletes including four first-year students, four sophomores, two juniors and one seniors.

Led by Head Coach Charles Metz and Assistant Coach Alex Ortega '15, the Colby-Sawyer College men's soccer team is comprised of 27 student athletes including six first-year students, four sophomores, eight juniors and nine seniors.

Led by Head Coach Meghan Medbery and Assistant Coaches Shay Spencer and Sarah Little, the team is comprised of 28 student-athletes including four first-year students, eleven sophomores, nine juniors and five seniors.

Student Ambassadors are responsible for welcoming prospective students and families to Colby-Sawyer, leading campus tours and hosting overnight visits.

The work of five graphic design majors was accepted to the Student Work Exhibit at the Annual Siggraph Conference held in Los Angeles.

Internships are field experiences designed to provide a student learning opportunity under collaborative supervision between Colby-Sawyer College faculty, staff, and work site professionals. Internships offer the opportunity for students to enhance their academic programs with work experience related to career interests in all industry areas in national and international settings.

Colby-Sawyer College recognizes 245 students for outstanding academic achievement during the 2017 spring semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours in graded courses.

The Wesson Honors Program provides intensive academic, cultural and social opportunities for the most motivated and capable Colby-Sawyer students who combine a solid work ethic and natural ability with intellectual curiosity.

Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing provides leadership and scholarship in practice, education and research to enhance the health of all people. Members must have a GPA of 3.0, rank in the top 35 percent of their graduating class, meet the expectation of academic integrity, and obtain faculty endorsements.

The international honor society in business, management and administration honors the academic excellence and integrity of business administration majors. Members must rank in the top 20 percent of the senior class or the top ten percent of the junior class, have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.0, and show a record of academic honesty and integrity. Sigma beta Delta members are expected to embrace its principles of wisdom, honorable service and the pursuit of meaningful aspirations.

The purpose of this national honor society in psychology is to encourage, stimulate and maintain excellence in scholarship and to advance the science of psychology. Members must rank in the top 35 percent of the class, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in psychology courses. They must have completed at least three college semesters and nine credits of psychology courses and be enrolled in a program of study with strong psychological content.

The college's chapter of this national honor society in communication studies fosters and rewards outstanding scholastic achievement in the field of communication. Members must have completed 60 credit hours, with 12 in communication studies courses, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, a minimum GPA of 3.25 in communication studies courses, and rank in the top 30 percent of their class.

The international honor society in business, The college's chapter of this honor society promotes, recognizes and encourages outstanding scholarly achievement of students enrolled in the athletic training education major. Members must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and rank in the top 35 percent of their class.

The Colby-Sawyer College chapter of this national honor society recognizes the academic achievement of juniors and seniors. To be eligible for membership a student must rank in the top ten percent of the junior or senior class and demonstrate the Alpha Chi values of truth and character.

The Alpha Chi Award is given to one or more graduating students who, in the eyes of the members of Alpha Chi, best exemplifies the ideas of the society - truth and character - through work at the college in support of chapter activities.

The Richard Crosby Memorial Award was established in 1976 in honor of Professor Crosby, a member of the English Department from 1952 to 1976. The award is given to a student who excels in the knowledge and appreciation of British literature.

The Guy Floyd Williams Award is presented to a graduating science major who has helped to maintain and perpetuate the ideals of the college during the graduate's years at Colby-Sawyer and who, through appropriate conduct, scholarship and decorum, has exemplified the spirit of the college.

Baccalaureate awards are presented to the graduating students in each baccalaureate program who are selected by the faculty for their interest and excellence within the major. Recipients must be full-time students and have completed at least 50 percent of their credits for graduation while attending Colby-Sawyer.

The capstone experience is interdisciplinary and differs for each student. In the capstone each graduating student demonstrates his or her knowledge by effectively communicating that knowledge to others during the Susan Colby Colgate Scholars' Symposium.

On Saturday, May 6, Colby-Sawyer celebrated its 179th Commencement, recognizing students and other individuals for academic excellence, outstanding contributions to society, and service to the college and community.

The David H. Winton Baccalaureate Award is presented to the baccalaureate degree graduate or graduates who rank highest in scholarship among those in the graduating class.

Colby-Sawyer's Fine and Performing Arts Department presents the Spring dance ensemble "Balance" on Friday, April 14, at 7 p.m. in the Sawyer Center Theater.

On Tuesday, April 18th a group of 14 Colby-Sawyer students led by media studies major Nathaly Abreu '17 performed "The Bronx is Burning: An Audiovisual Production," which combined film, dance, spoken word poetry and visual art in an explosive expression of Bronxite culture.

The Class of 2017 Commencement Speaker Medal is presented to the student who represents the character of the graduating class . The recipient gives an inspirational and engaging speech that represents the college's values and learning outcomes at the Commencement cermony.

The student-led CSC Players theater group present "Almost, Maine," a series of nine vignettes about love, loss and life in rural Maine.

The Fine and Performing Arts Department hosts its annual Senior Art Exhibition featuring students' work in a variety of media including painting, drawing, ceramics and graphic design.
