Colby-Sawyer College

The BOLD Women's Leadership Network is a highly selective national program of first-generation, female scholars from rural locations in northern New England who are in good standing at the college. The network supports colleges led by women presidents that have demonstrated a commitment to collaboration, innovation, diversity and inclusion.

Students from all over the country submitted essays on subjects such as how they overcame various academic challenges, prepared for the college process, and what they were planning to do after graduation. SAGE Scholars recently pledged $1 million in college scholarships over the next 5 years for students attending one of over 400 private colleges and universities in the network. These scholarships are named "gap scholarships" with the goal of helping families fill in the gap between what they have to pay for their children to go to college and what colleges and universities can offer in terms of financial aid.

The Wesson Honors Program provides intensive academic, cultural and social opportunities for the most motivated and capable Colby-Sawyer students who combine a solid work ethic and natural ability with intellectual curiosity.

The purpose of this national honor society in psychology is to encourage, stimulate and maintain excellence in scholarship and to advance the science of psychology. Members must rank in the top 35 percent of the class, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in psychology courses. They must have completed at least three college semesters and nine credits of psychology courses and be enrolled in a program of study with strong psychological content.

The international honor society in business, management and administration honors the academic excellence and integrity of business administration majors. Members must rank in the top 20 percent of the senior class or the top ten percent of the junior class, have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.0, and show a record of academic honesty and integrity. Sigma beta Delta members are expected to embrace its principles of wisdom, honorable service and the pursuit of meaningful aspirations.

This fall eight students have been selected to receive Colby-Sawyer College's Sawyer Fellowship. Each year, Colby-Sawyer College faculty and administrative staff nominate students for the honor based upon their excellence in the classroom, their leadership, and their involvement in the life of the college. These nominations are reviewed by a committee to determine the most deserving recipients.

Members of the national Alpha Chi college honor society receive prizes for making the best scholarly, creative, or artistic presentations in their fields at the society's annual national convention.

The Charlotte Cobb Stahl Scholarship is presented annually at the Gladys Greenbaum Meyers '39 Juried Student Art Exhibition. To be considered for this award students must enter five works to be juried by the faculty. The scholarship was established for enrolled Fine Arts students in 1994 in memory of Charlotte Cobb Stahl '51.

The Nancy Pierce Williams Scholarship is presented annually at the Gladys Greenbaum Meyers '39 Juried Student Art Exhibition. To be considered for this award students must enter five works to be juried by the faculty. The scholarship was established in 1998 through a bequest from Nancy Pierce Williams, a member of the class of 1939.

The Edith B. Long Scholarship is presented annually at the Gladys Greenbaum Meyers Juried Student Art Exhibition. To be considered for this award students must enter five works to be juried by the faculty. The scholarship was established in 1964 in memory of "Coco" Long and is awarded each year to returning students who demonstrate outstanding ability and interest in art.
