STOP THE BLEED
Under the direction of Colby-Sawyer faculty members T. J. Smith and Christine Reyes, athletic training majors assisted with on campus STOP THE BLEED training as associate instructors. STOP THE BLEED, an injury packing and tourniquet application program to assist in mass casualty incidents, was founded after the Sandy-Hook Massacre in an attempt to help prevent deaths during lock-down situations while first responders wait to enter and provide care to those injured.

SAGE Scholars National Scholarship Winner
Students from all over the country submitted essays on subjects such as how they overcame various academic challenges, prepared for the college process, and what they were planning to do after graduation. SAGE Scholars recently pledged $1 million in college scholarships over the next 5 years for students attending one of over 400 private colleges and universities in the network. These scholarships are named "gap scholarships" with the goal of helping families fill in the gap between what they have to pay for their children to go to college and what colleges and universities can offer in terms of financial aid.

2019 New Hampshire IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence NH-INBRE Annual Meeting
Colby-Sawyer College students and faculty presented research findings at the 2019 New Hampshire IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (NH-INBRE) Annual Meeting at the Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, N.H. Supported by an Institutional Development Award (IDeA) from the National Institutes of Health, the IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence is a federal grant program that promotes the development, coordination and sharing of biomedical research resources within 24 states. NH-INBRE is a partnership among eight institutions, including Colby-Sawyer College, the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and the University of New Hampshire. The annual meeting is its largest networking event, providing students the opportunity to connect and exchange ideas with representatives from other institutions as well as access to career resources.
