Students Present Biomedical Research at Annual NH-INBRE Conference

This August, 14 Colby-Sawyer students, alumni and faculty presented research findings at the 2018 New Hampshire IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (NH-INBRE) Annual Meeting. Supported by an Institutional Development Award from the National Institutes of Health, INBRE promotes the development, coordination and sharing of biomedical research resources within 24 states. NH-INBRE is a partnership among eight institutions, including Colby-Sawyer, the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and the University of New Hampshire.

2019 New Hampshire IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence NH-INBRE Annual Meeting

Colby-Sawyer College students and faculty presented research findings at the 2019 New Hampshire IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (NH-INBRE) Annual Meeting at the Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, N.H. Supported by an Institutional Development Award (IDeA) from the National Institutes of Health, the IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence is a federal grant program that promotes the development, coordination and sharing of biomedical research resources within 24 states. NH-INBRE is a partnership among eight institutions, including Colby-Sawyer College, the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and the University of New Hampshire. The annual meeting is its largest networking event, providing students the opportunity to connect and exchange ideas with representatives from other institutions as well as access to career resources.

Environmental studies major Calum Dixon '18 was awarded the Nellie Johnson Baroody Award at the American Ornithological Society's annual meeting in Tucson.

Student Research Leads to Tree Farm Certification

A Colby-Sawyer student-led initiative led to recognition of the college's responsible land management. The N.H. Tree Farm Program formally recognized Colby-Sawyer's 86-acre Kelsey Forest as the state's newest member of the American Tree Farm System.

NH-INBRE Summer Research Assistantship

New Hampshire IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (NH-INBRE) research assistantships are funded through a federal grant designed to enhance biomedical research training and opportunities across New Hampshire. The five-year, $15.4 million grant from the National Institutes of Health has funded a research network which includes Colby-Sawyer College students and faculty.

Completed Research Project on Traumatic Brain Injury

Five Colby-Sawyer senior nursing students completed a research project in conjuction with the Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic in Tampa, Fla. Associate Professor of Nursing and Public Health Shari Goldberg, Ph.D., R.N., served as supervisor to the students.
