Colby-Sawyer College

The Colby-Sawyer College chapter of this national honor society recognizes the academic achievement of juniors and seniors. To be eligible for membership a student must rank in the top ten percent of the junior or senior class and demonstrate the Alpha Chi values of truth and character.

On Saturday, May 9, Colby-Sawyer College celebrated its 2015 Commencement, recognizing students and other individuals for academic excellence, outstanding contributions to society, and service to the college and community.

To qualify for the Dean's List, students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours in graded courses.

The Kearsarge Chorale Board of Directors instituted the Honors Vocalist Program in 2012. The program recognizes outstanding young singers in the Kearsarge community and provides them with a rewarding musical experience through participation in the Chorale.

The Male Scholar-Athlete Award which is given to the graduating male senior who, in the opinion of the Athletic Advisory Council, has made significant contributions to both the scholastic and varsity programs of the College.

The Wynne Jesser McGrew Scholar-Athlete Award which is given to the graduating female senior who, in the opinion of the Athletic Advisory Council, has made significant contributions to both the scholastic and varsity programs of the College.

The Charger Award for Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year is given to a female who has extraordinary athletic ability and has contributed the most to her team, the College and the world of sport. As selected by the Colby-Sawyer Athletic Advisory Council, the award is presented at the Senior Awards Banquet as a token of hard work, good judgment, understanding and determination.

The Charger Award for Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year is given to the student-athlete who has extraordinary athletic ability and has contributed the most to his team, the College and the world of sport. Presented at the annual Senior Award Banquet, the award recipient is determined by the Colby-Sawyer Athletic Advisory Council in recognition of his hard work, good judgment, understanding and determination.

Presented at the Gladys Greenbaum Meyers '39 Juried Student Art Exhibition, the Donald Campbell Award recognizes the best in show for ceramics.

Presented at the Gladys Greenbaum Meyers '39 Juried Student Art Exhibition, the Linda Ost Award recognizes the best in show for graphic design. The award is named in honor of former Colby-Sawyer College Professor of Fine and Performing Arts Barbara Nwacha.

The Charlotte Cobb Stahl Scholarship is presented annually at the Gladys Greenbaum Meyers '39 Juried Student Art Exhibition. To be considered for this award students must enter five works to be juried by the faculty. The scholarship was established for enrolled Fine Arts students in 1994 in memory of Charlotte Cobb Stahl '51.

The Nancy Pierce Williams Scholarship is presented annually at the Gladys Greenbaum Meyers '39 Juried Student Art Exhibition. To be considered for this award students must enter five works to be juried by the faculty. The scholarship was established in 1998 through a bequest from Nancy Pierce Williams, a member of the class of 1939.

The Financial Services Art and Materials Award is presented annually at the Gladys Greenbaum Meyers '39 Juried Student Art Exhibition. The recipient is awarded a commission prize to create an original piece of art for the Colby-Sawyer College Financial Services Department.
