Carnival of Courage
Colby-Sawyer students from across majors along with Social Sciences & Education faculty members participated in the Carnival of Courage: Under the Sea Edition at the Newport Recreation Center on Sunday, April 14. Organized by the Child Development Club, the service-learning program featured fun, developmentally appropriate activities focused on fine and gross motor skills, including arts and crafts, sensory bins, magnetic fishing and face painting.

The fourth annual Relay for Life of Colby-Sawyer College event will be held at the Dan and Kathleen Hogan Sports Center beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, and running through 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 3. All are welcome to participate.

President's Dash and Stroll Volunteer
Colby-Sawyer College hosted its ninth annual College-Community 5K Dash & Stroll, a non-competitive fun run and walk, on Saturday, Sept. 13. The event celebrated the close relationship between the college and its neighboring communities, which began more than 175 years ago when residents of New London established New London Academy.

Colby-Sawyer College Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Club "Let's Move" Campaign
The Colby-Sawyer College Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Club organized "CSC Let's Move," the club's first wellness fair at the Dan and Kathleen Hogan Sports Center on Saturday, March 29. Inspired by First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move!" program to solve the epidemic of childhood obesity, the event featured Zumba(R), Insanity(R), Drums Alive(R), Pilates, yoga, physical therapy, reiki, and more.

Dating, Marriage and Relationship Across Cultures
Organized by the International Speakers Bureau, the event "Dating, Marriage and Relationship Across Cultures," engaged students, faculty, staff, and community members in a dialog encompassing such topics as dating, courtship, pre-marital sex, weddings, gender roles, sexual orientation and divorce.
Aptly organized on Feb. 14 marking Valentine's Day, the event was moderated by Assistant Professor of Humanities Margaret Wiley and coordinated by Sukriti Raut '15.

A Night Without a Dorm
In support of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, 50 Colby-Sawyer College students participated in "A Night Without a Dorm" on Friday evening, Nov. 15. Organized by the Sociology Club and Campus Activities Board, the 12-hour event raised awareness about homelessness while collecting donations for the Concord Cold Weather Shelter.

Walk New London Diabetes Project
Colby-Sawyer College's Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Club, an affiliate of the Greater Sullivan County Medical Reserve Corps (GSCMRC), organized "Walk New London Diabetes Project" on Sunday, Nov. 10. The walkathon, in honor of Diabetes Awareness Month, brought students and the New London community together to encourage healthy lifestyle initiatives.
Established in March 2009, the GSCMRC aims to engrain volunteers to fortify public health, emergency response and stimulate community resiliency.
