Colby-Sawyer College

The gift of a member of the class of 1932, this award is granted to a female student in the liberal arts program who is continuing her education toward a bachelor's degree. The recipient is selected on the basis of scholarship, character, future goals, and need.

This award was established in memory of Ann Gulick '54, by her classmates. It is presented to the sophomore student who best exemplifies, through voluntary service, the qualities of reliability, loyalty, and unselfishness. The recipient of this award is chosen by vote of the sophomore class.

The Class of 2015 Commencement Speaker Medal is presented to a student who represents the character of the graduating class and will give an inspirational and engaging speech that represents the college's values and learning outcomes.

The Senior Achievement Award is presented each year to a graduate who has distinguished himself or herself through leadership in the co-curricular life of the college. The recipient of this award is nominated by faculty and staff.

The Barbara Johnson Stearns Award honors a member of the senior class who best demonstrates exemplary leadership and dedication to the college community. The award was established in 1982 by Barbara Johnson Stearns, a member of the Class of 1932, who was an outstanding example of the characteristics she chose to support and reinforce in others.

This award is granted to the student or students who have distinguished themselves through the exercise of spiritual and/or moral leadership in the college community, or through academic work informed by their religious commitments.

Over 200 college students, higher education staff and administrators, representatives of local K-12 schools and nonprofits celebrated and recognized community service on college campuses across the state of New Hampshire.

Presented by the American Sign Language Club, the Brown Bag Lunch and Learn organized on Friday, Jan. 30, provided an opportunity for the Colby-Sawyer College community to learn the basics of sign language over lunch.

One of the most prestigious awards conferred by the academic community, Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges recognizes students who make praiseworthy contributions to the community and the school. Selections to Who's Who Among Students are made each fall by representatives from the faculty, administration and student body.

Colby-Sawyer College established the Colby-Sawyer Presidential Fellowship (CSPF) program provides recent graduates with gateway positions to their careers through roles within the college's administration. Fellows gain work experience, develop professional skills, provide quality contributions to the work of the college, and gain an understanding of how the college plans, implements initiatives and operates.

Colby-Sawyer College held the ReChargers Resale Event, the college's first organized effort to sell reusable items left behind by the graduating class to incoming and returning students, at the Mercer Hall Gymnasium on Sunday, Sept. 7 and Monday, Sept. 8.

History and Political Studies major Shangyu Yan '15 presented a research paper at the First World Congress of the International Association of Political Science Students (IAPSS) held in Thessaloniki, Greece from March 31 to April 4.

Ge Huang of China received the 2014 Edith Stockman Ruettinger Award during the Scholars and Leaders Awards Ceremony at the Sawyer Fine Arts Center Theater on Friday, May 9.

Hermella Tekle received the 2014 Ann Gulick Award during the Scholars and Leaders Awards Ceremony held at the Sawyer Fine Arts Center Theater on Friday, May 9.

Windcrossing Productions, founded in 1990 by the late Professor Donald Coonley, was reborn in 2011 and dedicated to the creation of interdisciplinary video projects that invite alumni to collaborate with current students and community members. The festival celebrates the collaboration and production of creative, original filmmaking.
