Sara Berry Named NAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

Colby-Sawyer student-athlete Sara Berry of Bowdoinham, Maine, was named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week on April 19. Majoring in Nursing, Berry is a member of the class of 2016.

Berry led the Chargers with 10 caused turnovers and 18 ground balls in a 2-1 week. The senior entered the week ranked in the top-30 in the nation in ground balls and caused turnovers per game and helped herself in those categories with three solid games. She began the week by helping the Chargers hold Green Mountain to just one goal in a conference victory as she earned four ground balls and one caused turnover. Berry then had an impressive six caused turnovers and nine ground balls in a tough 12-7 loss to a solid Fitchburg State team. She ended the week with three more caused turnovers and five ground balls in leading Colby-Sawyer to a 13-7 win over Norwich. Berry also scored six goals, dished two assists, and won six draw controls on the week.

The NAC is an athletic conference, affiliated with the NCAA 's Division III, consisting primarily of small liberal arts colleges throughout New England, including: Castleton State College, Colby-Sawyer College, University of Maine at Farmington, Green Mountain College, Husson University, Johnson State College, Lyndon State College, Maine Maritime Academy, New England College, Thomas College.
