Rasheed Foster Named NAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year

Colby-Sawyer student-athlete Rasheed Foster of Sandy Bay, Jamaica, was named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Year on May 16. Foster is a member of the class of 2017 and majors in Exercise Science.

Foster has had a standout season on the track for the Chargers. The senior made an impressive showing throughout the season, including three first-place finishes at the 2016 NAC Championship and five other top finishes throughout the season. He earned the title of NAC Champion in the 100m, 200m, and the 4x100m relay. Foster is currently ranked nationally and regionally in the 100m and 200m. After recording a time of 10.77 in the 100m earlier in the season at the 2016 FSU Eric Loeschner Invitational, he is currently tied for 38th in the nation, tied for fourth in New England, and tied for 11th for ECAC's. The senior also earned three NAC Track Athlete of the Week honors this season.

Most recently at the New England Championship, Foster earned All-New England honors in the 100m and 200m dashes by placing in the top-eight. He finished in the top spot in the 100 prelims (11.02) and finished in third place in the finals with a time of 10.82. He also placed third in the 200m with a school record time of 21.75, besting his previous mark of 21.94 which he achieved twice earlier this season.

The NAC is an athletic conference, affiliated with the NCAA 's Division III, consisting primarily of small liberal arts colleges throughout New England, including: Castleton State College, Colby-Sawyer College, University of Maine at Farmington, Green Mountain College, Husson University, Johnson State College, Lyndon State College, Maine Maritime Academy, New England College, Thomas College.
