Olivia McAnirlin Receives Guy Floyd Williams Award

Olivia McAnirlin was the 2017 receipient of the Guy Floyd Williams Award at Colby-Sawyer's Scholars and Leaders Ceremony on Friday, May 5. The annual ceremony honors students for their academic and leadership achievements during their time at Colby-Sawyer College.

The Guy Floyd Williams Award is presented to a graduating science major who has helped to maintain and perpetuate the ideals of the college during the graduate's years at Colby-Sawyer and who, through appropriate conduct, scholarship and decorum, has exemplified the spirit of the college. McAnirlin received the award as a result of her engagement in the NH-INBRE program, her presentation of her scholarship at two regional student conferences, and her outstanding work on her Capstone research projects.

During the ceremony McAnirlin also received the Exercise Science Baccalaureate Award and the Senior Achievement Award.

A member of Colby-Sawyer's Wesson Honors Program and Alpha Chi national college honor society, McAnirlin graduated summa cum laude on Saturday, May 6 with a B.S. in exercise science. She will pursue graduate studies at Miami University next fall.
