The Ann Gulick Award was established in memory of Ann Gulick '54 by the members of her class. The recipient of this monetary award is chosen by nominations of the sophomore class and selected and approved by the vice president for Student Development and dean of students.

"Tekle is a strong member of the Class of 2016 community, leading it as president and working tirelessly on its behalf," said Dean of Students Dave Sauerwein, as he presented the award to Tekle. "She is organized and motivated; she is active, smart and visionary. She knows what she wants in life and she has the determination to achieve those goals."
