Gustav Jigrup Named NAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Colby-Sawyer College student-athlete Gustav Jigrup of Gothenburg, Sweden, was named Men's Tennis Player of the Week on April 19 by the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). Jigrup majors in Business Administration and is a member of the class of 2018.

Jigrup won all six of his matches last week in helping the Chargers to three 9-0 sweeps over conference opponents. He began with a straight-sets victory over Lyndon's top player dropping just three games and teaming with Shawn Bissonette to win at No. 2 doubles 8-1. Jigrup followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win at the top flight in a win over MCLA and again teamed with Bissonette for an 8-3 win this time at No. 1 doubles. The sophomore ended the week by handing Green Mountain's top player his first singles loss of the season in a close match 7-5, 6-4. Jigrup made it 6-for-6 for the week with an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles with Andrew Peloquin.

The NAC is an athletic conference, affiliated with the NCAA 's Division III, consisting primarily of small liberal arts colleges throughout New England, including: Castleton State College, Colby-Sawyer College, University of Maine at Farmington, Green Mountain College, Husson University, Johnson State College, Lyndon State College, Maine Maritime Academy, New England College, Thomas College.
