Colby-Sawyer Graduate Abhineet Kumar Recognized With Alpha Chi Award

Abhineet Kumar, a media studies major from India, was awarded the Alpha Chi Award at the Scholars and Leaders Ceremony on Friday, May 5. The annual ceremony honors students for their academic and leadership achievements during their time at Colby-Sawyer College.

The award is given to a senior who, in the eyes of the members of Alpha Chi national college honor society, best exemplifies the ideals of the society - truth and character - through work at the college in support of chapter activities. Kumar was selected due to his commitment to truth in his constant quest for knowledge, including self-knowledge, which he expressed in his coursework and films, as well as for his kindness and generosity of spirit toward fellow students, faculty and staff.

During the ceremony Kumar also received the Media Studies Baccalaureate Award.

A member of Colby-Sawyer's Wesson Honors Program and Lambda Pi Eta national communication studies honor society,Kumar plans to pursue graduate studies in film.
