Andrew Peloquin of Greenville, R.I., is a member of the Colby-Sawyer Men's Tennis team that earned a fifth straight North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division Championship on Saturday, April 30. Peloquin majors in Biology and is a member of the class of 2018.
The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team swept MCLA, 9-0 in the NAC East Division semifinals before earning a 5-0 triumph over Castleton in the finals to claim the program's fifth straight East Division title.
The Chargers (14-5) will now play Penn State Abington (9-6) in the NAC/NEAC Crossover Championship with a trip to the NCAA Tournament on the line. The Nittany Lions won a third straight NAC West Division title with a 5-2 victory over Penn State Berks today. Next Sunday's match will take place on Sunday, May 8 at the Tri-City Tennis Club in Latham, N.Y. with a first serve set for 11:30 a.m. The Chargers beat the Nittany Lions 8-1 two years ago in the crossover and again last season 7-2.
The NAC is an athletic conference, affiliated with the NCAA's Division III, consisting primarily of small liberal arts colleges throughout New England, including: Castleton State College, Colby-Sawyer College, University of Maine at Farmington, Green Mountain College, Husson University, Johnson State College, Lyndon State College, Maine Maritime Academy, New England College, Thomas College.
